Abstract

The paper deals with the use of marine actinomycetes as a sustainable remedy against emerging drug resistance. Actinomycetes are unique among prokaryotes due to their filamentous nature, differentiated life cycle and metabolic versatility. Successful and effective exploitation of actinomycetes relies upon the characterization of actinomycetes from unexplored habitats which in turn unravels the ecological and biotechnological perspectives of the organism.
