Abstract

Introduction: Nanoparticles are solid with a measurement of 1-100 nm. At present, Copper nanoparticles find a variety of applications in almost every developing sector like medical fields, agricultural fields, technological fields, etc. This Biotechnology combines the biological principles of both physical and chemical properties. These natural strategies for metal nanoparticle amalgamation utilizing plant separates have been recommended as conceivable eco amicable options in contrast to the concoction and physical techniques. Each metal nanoparticle has particular and peculiar properties. One such property is Enhanced Antimicrobial activity.

Aim: An Antimicrobial is an operator that executes microorganisms or stops their development. Antimicrobial medicines can be grouped according to the microorganisms on which they act primarily against. Here, the aim is to analyse the enhanced antimicrobial activity of herbal formulations.

Materials and Methods: In this report, we use tulsi and turmeric plants to synthesize copper nanoparticles and they were characterised using UV-visible spectrophotometer, were also tested for their antimicrobial activity.

Results: CuO nanoparticles were effective in killing a range of bacterial pathogens involved in hospital - acquired infections but a high concentration of nano CuO is required to achieve a bactericidal effect.

Conclusion: Antimicrobial activity of copper nanoparticles synthesized from dried ginger showed maximum zone of inhibition at 150 µl for all the oral pathogens. Therefore, it can be concluded that increase in concentration increases the zone of inhibition.
