Abstract

Samarium (Sm) doped cobalt (CoFe1.9Sm0.1O4) ferrite nanoparticles have been prepared by green sol-gel auto combustion technique with lemon juice. The prepared sample was sintered at 800 C for 4 h. The crystal structure and morphological properties of ferrite nanoparticles doped with samarium (Sm) were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Field Emission Gun Scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM) technique. The magnetic properties of the ferrite nanoparticle were studied by vibrating sample magnetometer. From the M-H hysteresis loops, the saturation magnetization, coercively, remanence, Bohr magnetons, and anisotropy constants (K) were computed. The crystallite size of the produced ferrite nanoparticle is between 10 and 22 nanometers.
