Abstract

COVID 19 pandemic has affected all the domains of life. Education is the only industry that was completely transferred to online mode in most countries around the world especially in the higher education.

This study aims to explain the behavioral intention and e-learning use by the students of the Higher Institute of Management of Sousse thanks to performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions. These variables are the basis of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) developed by Venkatesh et al. [1]. A total of 204 valid questionnaires were collected from students being experienced the online learning during the lock down period. All of the variables' dimensions of UTAUT’s model were subjected to principal component analysis employing varimax rotation in SPSS.

The different dimensions were analyzed and the items that do not have good loadings (superior to 0.5), and displays contributions higher than 0.3 on many factors were eliminated. At the end and similar to previous researches, all of the dimensions developed by Venkatesh et al. [1] appeared to be strong antecedents to e-learning use. Consequently, all the hypotheses were supported.
